Mr. Jeremy Lu is an entrepreneur strongly interested in business related to head-worn IOT, augmented reality, night-vision camera, real-time OS, and broadband data-communication. He previously served as vice president at the previous Advance Technology Division (ATD) team of FOXCONN. As the sales head of an innovation product division of Foxconn for his ten years working experience at Foxconn, he oversaw the entire communication product and business development cycle for different innovative terminal equipment at Foxconn. Starting from the initial product idea stage to the final product mass production and global deliveries, he is very experienced in managing the entire product development cycle for global accounts. He has tremendous professional experiences in new technology deployment from concept design, system integration, product development to mass production and global logistics management. Under his responsibilities at Foxconn, he grasps major brands such as Vizio, Magellan and Navigon, giant retailers such as Costco and world-class telecom operators such as Douche Telecom & Orange in Europe.
Mr. Younger L. Liang’s career development started in computer engineering of localization and Y2K enterprise solutions; as a consultant for Wang Laboratories Taiwan and NeXT Computer Taiwan, during his university days majored in Mathematics at NCTU in Taiwan.
Younger L. Liang working for his career as an innovator with proven tracking records of deliverables to consumer, industry and military segments in high tech domain. He was a senior staff of Ulead Systems (acquired into WinDVD, Corel) from 1997, the first multimedia software company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in early days. He was specialized in new product development and multimedia processing. He thereafter took a deep plowing in cloud computing and content driven businesses for online media sharing, digital authoring, publishing and distribution to enable operating mass-multi-user telecom-grade instant messaging social networking platforms at XCome (invested by acer).
In the area of software-hardware integration, Mr. Liang supervised a team across industries from 2009 at KOOBE Inc. (invested by Foxconn) to deliver the world first eBook reader featured with infrared powered multi-touch screen and following, the next generation LCD/e-paper dual-panel educational tablet. Furthermore, he has extended his sense of touch for technology to the research and development of advanced nano scaled optical engineering from 2014.
Technical challenges in this new area of augmented reality (AR) covering human-machine interface design, situational awareness for AR wearable devices and outdoors display applications in complicated environments on top of innovation in see-through imaging technologies based in the area of photonics and material process engineering.
Dr. Ranjith R Unnithan is currently a Research Group Leader and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University of Melbourne. His research areas span drone-based sensors and applications, multi-spectral sensors for biomedical applications, thermal image cameras and nanophotonic engineering.
Dr. Ranjith R Unnithan’s career started as Scientist/Engineer at Indian Space Research Organization, Bangalore. He was involved in India's first mission to moon “Chandrayaan -1” and awarded with Young Scientist award by His Excellency, The President of India in 2007 for his contributions.
During his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Cambridge, he developed a voltage reconfigurable nanophotonic phase modulator with more than one million phase modulating elements in a very small area in silicon. After finishing PhD, Dr. Ranjith R Unnithan worked as a postdoctoral researcher and project manager in the Electrical Engineering Department at Cambridge for a Samsung project. He joined the University of Melbourne as a lecturer in 2014.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship:
• Co-founder and Director of Sensor Research, Hort-Eye Pty Ltd, precision agriculture drone sensing company founded by a team from the University of Melbourne and aligned in partnership with XM2, a major drone equipment and services company.
• Won the Transurban Innovation Competition 2017 for research into a speed sensor with LED lights, which once attached to the road surface could provide real-time customized signals encouraging speeding drivers to slow down.
• Won two innovation competitions from Cambridge University Entrepreneurs in 2011, which were reported in Cambridge Elevator news as ‘25 Cambridge technologies that could change the world’.
• Awarded with CambridgeSens innovation awards both in 2009 and 2010
